Fire Safe Europe co-organised a key event at the European Parliament during European Fire Safety Week, focusing on progress in fire safety across the EU.
We at Fire Safe Europe are thrilled to have co-organised a crucial event during the European Fire Safety Week #EUFSW23, which took place at the European Parliament. This event marked a significant milestone in our ongoing efforts to enhance fire safety of people in buildings across the European Union.
🔥 Hosted by MEP Adam Jarubas, the discussion titled "Taking stock of progress on fire safety – what should the European Commission and Parliament do to improve fire safety in Europe?" was a success. We extend our gratitude to MEP Seán Kelly, MEP Maria Da Graça Carvalho, Marco Morini, François Augendre, Katharina Knapton-Vierlich, Aleksandra Klenke, Heikki Väänänen and other representatives of the Europeans institutions for their invaluable contributions. The insights from various fire safety experts and other stakeholders' organisations added depth and perspective to the conversation.
Key topics included the pioneering EU FireStat pilot project and the integration of fire safety in Europe’s energy transition and renovation wave. Discussions also covered the importance of training, skills, competence, and the role of research in fire safety. The event highlighted the critical function of the EU Fire Information Exchange Platform in fostering collaboration and information exchange.
👏 A huge thank you to all who participated and especially to the European Fire Safety Alliance and the Forum for European Electrical Domestic Safety that contributed to making this event a success. Your dedication and commitment are key to building a safer Europe.
