Discover the presentation of our joint project with RISE and Efectis on EU Fire Safety Inspection Guidelines
We are pleased to share insights from our recent participation in the 6th Meeting of the Joint Research Centre (JRC) Fire Safety Engineering Expert Network, where we presented our ongoing collaborative project with RISE Fire Research and Efectis. This initiative aims to develop comprehensive European Guidelines on Fire Safety Inspections, a critical step toward improving fire safety practices across the EU.
Key Discussions at the JRC Meeting
The meeting convened leading experts in fire safety engineering to discuss current challenges and advancements in the field. Our presentation focused on the initial findings of our project, highlighting the diversity of inspection regimes across Member States and the need for standardized guidelines to ensure consistent and effective fire safety inspections.
Participants engaged in robust discussions on topics such as:
The integration of fire safety considerations into energy efficiency retrofits.
The role of inspections in identifying and mitigating fire risks in existing buildings.
The importance of aligning inspection practices with evolving building technologies and materials.
Call for Stakeholder Feedback
As we progress to the next phase of developing the actual guidelines, we are seeking input from a broad range of stakeholders, including:
Fire services
Building inspectors
Regulatory authorities
Property owners
Insurers
Fire safety professionals
Your insights into current inspection practices, challenges faced, and areas for improvement are invaluable to creating guidelines that are practical, effective, and widely applicable.
